IDC5 to IDC6 upgrade process

Clients with Active subscriptions will be prompted to download IDC6 update in the usual way from within IDC5.

You MUST update via IDC5 to ensure that:-

Any customer database files are transferred.

License languages are transferred.

VCI usb / Bluetooth configuration is transferred.

Before you update


  • Ensure your pc meets minimum spec requirements - See here:- https://www.texa.com/system/#idc6
  • Ensure ALL Windows updates have been completed PRIOR to installing IDC6.
  • Install on a windows 11 OS preferable. Windows Insider Preview builds; are not supported.
  • This software is not compatible with devices based on an ARM processor and equipped with a Windows operating system.
  • If using windows 10, you MUST have the 22H2 Microsoft update installed to run IDC6.
  • Your PC log in account MUST have full admin rights to install AND use IDC6.
  • Ensure any antivirus is OFF for the duration of install and any required reboots.
  • If any anti malware software is running on your computer, please contact your IT admin to ensure all software components are added to "whitelist". Add exception folder paths C:\ProgramData\Texa and C:\ProgramData\SafeNet Sentinel
  • Uninstall any dormant trial antivirus. These will still hinder / slow pc performance.

 

 


Select your update then proceed as normal, following all onscreen instructions.

Please be patient with download and install. Download speed will depend on your internet speed.
Installation speed will depend on the spec of your pc.

In some stages it may appear that nothing is happening - please WAIT until further instructions appear.

IDC6 Installer will open - The relevant software options will be displayed.
Select "install" for the software you have licensed.
Follow the prompts.

Once the install has completed, press "start IDC6".

IDC6 will open.

Click on the software module to open IDC6 (Bike, Marine etc.)

When prompted, ensure you select "data migration from IDC5".


This will ensure any client files will be transferred as well as your tool configuration data.


You will see the 2 new icons on your desktop. 
TEXA IDC6 opens the software.
You can delete the old IDC5 shortcut from your desktop/taskbar - no need to uninstall the old IDC5 software.
