IDC5 to IDC6 upgrade process
Clients with Active subscriptions will be prompted to download IDC6 update in the usual way from within IDC5.
If you are currently running IDC5, Please do not download IDC6 direct from Texa's web site as this will introduce errors with your license verification.
You MUST update via IDC5 to ensure that:-
Any customer database files are transferred.
License languages are transferred.
VCI usb / bluetooth configuration is transferred.
Before you update
- Ensure ALL Windows updates have been completed PRIOR to installing IDC6.
- Install on a windows 11 OS preferable. Windows Insider Preview builds; are not supported.
- This software is not compatible with devices based on an ARM processor and equipped with a Windows operating system.
- If using windows 10, you MUST have the 22H2 Microsoft update installed to run IDC6.
- Your PC log in account MUST have full admin rights to install AND use IDC6.
- Ensure any antivirus is OFF for the duration of install and any required reboots.
- If any anti malware software is running on your computer, please contact your IT admin. Add exception folder path "C:\ProgramData\Texa"
- Uninstall any dormant trial antivirus. These will still hinder / slow pc performance.

Select your update then proceed as normal, following all onscreen instructions.
