Great product. Easy to understand and use. I have it hooked up to my bike, which has a lithium battery and it’s working like a charm.

All seems good, hard to give a accurate review in the few weeks that I’ve had it but it’s working as expected.

Arrived in a timely manner, great service.

By far the best charger we have in the shop. Was amazed at two lipo battery's that were both bellow 0.5v and both were able to be reset and charged and now working as new in their respective bikes. The added bonus is the power supply function for when we are flashing ecu's or running diagnostics on Ducati's we can maintain full power to the bike without the need to run slave batteries and chargers.
Perfect for our shop and diverse range of bike we have to work on.

We try for log time to find charger with Power-supply mode so we can tune can run the diagnostics with out power loss
this one is the best product ever .

This is a must have for any workshop. Having the option of a constant 13.5 volts at the push of a button is a big time saver. No need to worry about low voltage on the battery when carrying out testing for extended periods of time.
We are reading are writing files to ECU's which can take up to an hour and must have 13v at all times. This charger does the job. I wont use anything else!

I bought this to use with TEXA diagnostics as it was the recommended unit and I haven't been disappointed.
I use it every day for both TEXA and general charging and it is quite simply the best charger I've used.
It's a very stable power supply when doing extended diagnostics, or just communicating with TEXA, and a very good charger for both lead acid and lithium batteries.
If you are doing updates on finicky bikes like KTM or BMW, this is the unit for you. hook it up and know that you'll have a constant, correct power supply for the whole time you are working.
Well worth the price and I'm looking at getting a second one just to have as a general battery charger.
And Steve is awesome to deal with so that's another bonus.

As soon as I got back from the post office I immediately put it to work on a customer's bike!
I wished I knew about this beauty sooner, first time programming the ECU or firmware updates without power going down on KTM’s or Triumphs. All this time was using other chargers but on problematic bikes for which updates take longer it was a nightmare as connection keep dropping once battery power dropped below 11volts… had to let the battery recover so I can start again :( Sometimes I had to use 2 batteries connected together to go through the process but NOW, NO MORE :) The best investment ever if you do ECU programming or firmware updates, or deal with badly discharged batteries. It even deals with the commissioning of new batteries and charges both AGM/LA, and Lithium batteries + the ability to set it up in Supply Mode if a bike cannot start due to a drained battery.

It is a very worthy Product i have used this on my motorcycle for the past 5 and a half years and the product is still doing its job without fault and the battery is still like new i am impressed , will buy again if anything should happen great product highly recommend this product .

optimate 2 is a geat charger it will give your battery the retention power it needs. this is definitely better than my ctek and BT plus.

So simple to use, and records the cranking voltage, easy for customers to see and understand.

The instructions could be a little clearer, but skip most of it (except the safety information) and just plug-and-play.

Great service from Moto-Tech, the product does what it says and is easy to use. I now don't have to worry about a flat battery when my motorcycle has been sitting using the trickle charge option.

I've tried the Optimate 6 with Deep Cycle, SLAs and regular lead acid batteries and had success with all types so far.
Marginal batteries were fixed with one pass of the Optimate 6, while batteries I thought were probably gone but worth a try took several attempts before they were recovered.
Optimate 6 has already saved me over $1500...

I recommend anyone who has a store of marginal expensive batteries to buy the Optimate 6. Even if you only save some of your batteries, you'll still be way ahead.

I bought this charger for the inbuilt Can-Bus option that is needed for BMWs. Works like a treat and easy to use.

I have had this on my road bike, then swapped to my track bike.

On road i was amazed to find a 10 degree tyre temp drop from one of my local hill runs from samford to glorious village, so tyres were barely above ambient. Hitting a reasonable pace up the hill didn't help. You'd be amazed at how much speed you need to get heat into the tyres, slowish twistys really don't generate much heat. However on a longer stretch of faster road i managed to hit 49 degrees in the rear.....

I then swapped the system to my track bike. Reaching fast yellow group pace the front tyre air temp reached 50 and rear reached 59. I measured external temperature of the rear with an infra red thermometer to compare. Left side was at 55 degrees and the right hand side was 65 degrees (lakeside has 3 right hand corners that do stress the tyres).
So, in short summary, the air temperature was a very good guide as to tyre surface temperature, sitting roughly in the middle of the surface temperatures. In broad terms, for a track tyre/slick, around 60 to 65 is about right, higher than that and the surface starts melting, (Tyre pressure too low) sacrificing grip, lower than that, the tyre is not working hard enough therefore not getting hot enough (pressure too high).
On a cold day at the track, it will take longer for tyres to warm up and on this day in particular there were many offs, most likely due to cold tyres....
Combined with looking for correct cold to hot pressure gain (if not using warmers) the tyre watch can save you money on tyres, (and repairs) by letting you know when it is safe to start pushing.

I did a bit of research before selecting the Optimate 4. I wanted a charger to use on a CAN bus for my K1300.

The product feels nice and solid and is well constructed. Other similar products can feel cheap and flimsy. This one doesn't. It's very easy to use - pretty much plug and go.

However, in the interests of making the unit free of buttons, the switchover function between CAN bus and standard mode requires using the clips. Although it only takes a minute, it could have been easier to have a slide switch on the unit to select either function. This would also make it easy to see what mode it was in before plugging it in. But this is a very minor issue.

A switch may be a more obvious idea, however switches can fail so In the interests of cost and reliability they do not have a switch to swap modes.
When OptiMate 4 is turned on, the bottom 2 leds flash if the unit is in CAN mode. It will stay in the last used mode until it is changed by the user. Thanks again, Steve
